My name is Sophia Farouk, and I’m half Egyptian, half Moroccan. I was born in Egypt, but soon after, my family moved to Dubai due to my dad’s job. As much as I would have loved to grow up in either of my home countries, I’m incredibly grateful for my upbringing in Dubai, where I stayed connected to my roots while experiencing a rich, multicultural environment. I attended a French international school, surrounded by people from all over the world, which shaped my perspective and appreciation for different cultures.
Being away from my extended family was difficult, but it made our bond even stronger—especially with my aunt, who was my best friend growing up. She introduced me to the world of design, which quickly became my passion. Even as a child, my parents valued my opinion on everything, from furnishing our home to choosing clothes and even curating social media posts. As I grew older, I had the opportunity to collaborate with brands and companies, allowing me to bring my creativity and design skills to life. Now, I’m excited to finally pursue what I truly love and to continue learning and growing in the design industry.
